Mr. and Mrs. Smith | Kingston House Wedding Photographer

I think everything about Mike and Mikylla’s wedding was just about perfect! It was my first time at Kingston House – what a gorgeous place to host an event! There was plenty of room to stretch out for the bride and her girls to get ready in the mid century house. The architecture and the dark Douglas fir walls gave off an almost nostalgic vibe – it reminded me of old pictures I’ve seen of my mom’s aunts with their martinis and cocktail dresses à la Mad Men.

Mikylla chose a deep burgundy for her bridal color. I absolutely love jewel tone colors for bridal color palettes, because they POP in my images!  Her bouquet from Moua Floral Designs featured several varieties and colors of dahlias – my *favorite*!

The ceremony took place down the hill by the pond. Their pastor shared both sides of the “how they met” story about the early days of their relationship. By the end, you could easily see how well Mike and Mikylla complement each other. Mike executed a flawless dip for their first kiss as husband and wife!

Now let’s talk about the reception.  PIZZA.  P I Z Z A.  Freshly made, wood fired pizza from Stella Fiore‘s truck! After already being on my feet for six hours, I was stoked!! So good!  The crowd seemed to love it too. There were friends from all walks of life including Mikylla’s engineering buddies from the University of Washington and Mike’s firefighter brotherhood. I don’t think I’ve seen a more fun dance party on a Sunday night – who needs work the next day? 🙂

The new Mr. and Mrs. Smith headed out at the end of the night, looking forward to their long awaited honeymoon on Maui.  I may be a little jealous.  Perhaps I can convince the husband that I need a two week vacation soon…

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Smith!!
