I was looking forward to this wedding ALL YEAR – not only because it is my first destination wedding, but because I’ve known the sweet bride and her family for years, and I couldn’t wait to celebrate with them! Jordan and Danielle chose the absolutely breathtaking location of Sunset Hill Wedding Barn, just down the road from Central Lake Township, Michigan. Right when I pulled up the driveway, I gasped out loud as I gazed over the rolling hills and tall trees, holding on to the last few days of summer. Laura, the owner, described the true labor of love that it took build their dream on top of that peaceful hill, and the busyness and excitement of their first full wedding season. Jordan and Danielle were surrounded by a ton of family and many friends for their wedding day, many of whom traveled from all over Michigan and from Washington state to be there. The weather was absolutely perfect – warm sunshine with a cool breeze. The ladies wore flowing lavender gowns, while the guys were dapper black suits.  My favorite part of the day was definitely when it was time for sunset portraits! I could have kept them out there all evening if they’d let me! It was such a great way to wrap up a busy wedding – for the bride and groom to simply breathe and take in the entire day!
Danielle’s adorable nephew was quite pleased with his gift to his auntie – a box of cheese! I think that’s a good present, if you ask me!
