Couples get married every year. We witness more family members, childhood friends, colleagues – and eventually, all of their children! – tie the knot as time goes by. 2020 feels quite differently. All of my couples this spring and summer have experienced some kind of disruption to best laid plans. This is why it was such a joy to celebrate with Adam and Valerie. A couple of postponements and logistic changes later, they were able to finally have the beautiful day they had been waiting for. Adam and Valerie kept some very classic traditions – they hid from each other before the ceremony, Adam saw Valerie’s spectacular dress and veil for the first time at the altar, and Valerie’s wedding band was a surprise from her new groom. They exchanged both their own written commitments, as well as traditional wedding vows. My personal favorite was Valerie’s decision to wear the blusher of her veil over her face. It’s not as common anymore, and it’s something that I chose for my own wedding day. There’s nothing like a first kiss after the groom lifts the veil over his bride’s beaming smile. Is there anything more romantic?! Enjoy this little sample of Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn’s perfect, long-awaited day – it’s a little burst of sunshine for your day!
